The Panthers started the teaching of black history in schools. They taught African Americans to stand up for their rights and to not take police brutality. Thousands of school children are fed free breakfast across the country because of the breakfast program the panthers set up. African Americans now stand up for what they think is right and fight for their rights thanks to the panthers lead. The panthers might not have gone about it the right way but they made a lasting impact on how many African Americans think and act today.
